Minimum Requirements: Minimum bachelors degree in technical field with at least two years of experience working with environmental data as well as experience with environmental management information systems (EMIS) software such as opsInfo, ESS or Enviance, or custom solutions. Must have
experience working with data in at least one of the following media: air, greenhouse gas (GHG), water, waste, or environmental compliance tracking.
Also required is experience using MS Access, SQL Server or Oracle to manage data. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to use SQL to retrieve data from a relational database and experience
with presentation software such as Visio, PowerPoint, or similar products. Must also be able to create process or workflow diagrams.
Must be able to work collaboratively with teams of engineers, environmental managers and EMIS pracitioners. Excellent listening skills and ability to manage user expectations are required.
Successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and good time management skills and be able to work under deadline pressure
Must be flexible and able to work with different types of technologies including SharePoint, Google docs, .NET applications, and GIS (ESRI) products. Familiarity with some aspect of environmental management, such as regulatory analysis, pollution control technologies, environmental waste streams, pollution prevention, or permitting expected.
Job Description: This position will be part of an Information Technology Services group that offers a variety of services related to other URS business practices. In addition to EMIS, the IT group designs and implements geospatial applications, Health and Safety systems, emergency management systems and other database applications for clients in the public and private sector. Current staff includes developers, DBAs, analysts and technical writers. This position will provide support for EMIS implementations, working under a task leader or project manager to execute defined tasks.
